Nature doesn’t recognize borders.
Our work transcends them.

The Salazar Center brings people together across borders, cultures, and sectors to secure North America’s lands, waters, and the life they support.

Your support can be a vital source of flexible funding for our work to protect North America’s most critical places and species today, while incubating the ideas and relationships necessary to ensure a thriving future tomorrow.

Your gift will make a world of difference.

Your support matters

At a time when our continent faces complex, urgent challenges, we create the human connections and capacity that bridge borders, scale solutions, and foster the enabling conditions for nature to thrive.

Your investment today will contribute to our efforts to ensure a resilient future for North America. Every dollar you give helps connects organizations, empowers communities, and accelerates on-the-ground impact in critical landscapes. For example,

    • $1,000 supports the full participation of one conservation leader at our International Symposium, which convenes scientists, Indigenous leaders, funders, and policymakers to share best practices and new thinking, and to spark collaboration.
    • $5,000 supports 10 thought-provoking essays for our online forum, What’s Next For Nature?, which explores critical issues in political ecology, or the relationships between society, the environment, and power.
    • $20,000 provides a seed grant to one team participating in our Peregrine Accelerator, a six-month program that advances promising conservation projects in critical transboundary landscapes through expert training, mentorship, and peer learning.
    • $50,000 supports one annual Conservation Fellow, a mid-career professional whose innovative work will help define the next generation of conservation.

“What inspires me most about the Salazar Center’s approach is that it empowers people doing critical work to protect natural systems, and it then adds the structure and support needed to scale innovation and bring about real change.”

— Tony Frank, CSU System Chancellor and Salazar Center co-founder
