The mission of the Salazar Center for North American Conservation is to connect diverse leaders, communities, and resources across Mexico, the United States, and Canada in order to accelerate the pace and scale of innovative, inclusive, and durable solutions for conservation, climate resilience, and social equity.
Since 2019, the annual symposia has brought together an impressive community of leaders and provided a forum through which public officials, scientists, practitioners, policymakers, and funders can learn about major issues and explore new partnerships and approaches to addressing the conservation challenges facing North America. In keeping with the Center’s commitment to engaging diverse voices, of 126 speakers to date, 44 percent have been Black, Indigenous, or other people of color. Each year, the Symposium has consistently received excellent content reviews from attendees, participants, and sponsors alike.
